1. Policy Statement

Mottram Installation Group is dedicated to delivering the highest possible standards of quality across all areas of our operations. We recognise that our reputation and continued success depend upon the consistent delivery of reliable, compliant, and technically excellent services.

Our goal is to provide every client with assurance that all projects — from initial concept to final commissioning — are executed in accordance with defined requirements, industry standards, and client expectations. This commitment to quality underpins our work across broadcast infrastructure, data cabling, fibre optics, security systems, prefabrication, and specialist installation services.


2. Purpose and Scope

This policy defines the principles and framework of our Quality Management System (QMS), which applies to all business functions, projects, and personnel within Mottram Installation Group, including employees, contractors, and approved suppliers.

It covers:

  • Project design, planning, and installation.
  • Procurement and materials management.
  • Site operations and health & safety compliance.
  • Testing, inspection, and commissioning.
  • Documentation, handover, and ongoing support.

The QMS ensures that all processes are controlled, monitored, and continually improved in line with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 and other applicable standards.


3. Quality Objectives

Our measurable quality objectives are to:

  • Achieve 100% client satisfaction across all projects.
  • Deliver all works fully compliant with relevant standards (BS, ISO, IEC, and manufacturer specifications).
  • Complete 95% of projects on or ahead of schedule.
  • Reduce site non-conformances year-on-year through proactive monitoring and root-cause analysis.
  • Maintain zero major non-conformances during internal and external audits.
  • Ensure all staff and contractors receive quality awareness and technical competence training annually.

4. Leadership and Accountability

The Managing Director has ultimate responsibility for ensuring this policy is implemented and maintained. Senior management defines measurable quality objectives and reviews performance at quarterly management review meetings.

Department leads and project managers are accountable for embedding quality standards into day-to-day operations. Every employee, subcontractor, and partner is responsible for maintaining the quality of their work, identifying potential issues, and contributing to continuous improvement.


5. Quality Management System Framework

Mottram Installation Group operates an integrated Quality Management System that encompasses:

  • Document Control: All policies, drawings, test results, and procedures are version-controlled and archived digitally within our internal documentation platform (MIG Nexus).
  • Risk Management: Risks to quality are identified and mitigated at planning stage through method statements, risk assessments, and QA inspections.
  • Supplier Evaluation: Approved suppliers and subcontractors are assessed based on capability, compliance, and performance.
  • Change Management: Any modification to design or installation is subject to controlled review and authorisation.
  • Inspection and Testing: All installations are verified using calibrated test equipment and documented with test certificates.
  • Corrective & Preventive Action (CAPA): Non-conformances are recorded, investigated, and resolved to prevent recurrence.
  • Client Feedback: Post-completion surveys and debriefs form part of continual improvement.

6. Process Control

All operational processes are defined and controlled to ensure consistency and traceability. Key processes include:

  • Tender and contract review to confirm scope and compliance.
  • Resource planning and competence verification.
  • Procurement and inspection of incoming materials.
  • Installation, testing, and verification in accordance with MIG standards.
  • Final inspection, documentation, and client acceptance.

All works are planned and documented using standardised templates, checklists, and reporting tools to maintain uniformity across all projects.


7. Competence, Training, and Awareness

We recognise that the quality of our service depends upon the competence and professionalism of our workforce. Mottram Installation Group maintains detailed training records for all staff and contractors, covering:

  • Technical qualifications and certifications.
  • Health, safety, and environmental awareness.
  • Quality procedures and inspection techniques.
  • Continuous professional development (CPD) programmes.

Employees are briefed on this policy at induction and receive refresher training to maintain awareness of quality expectations and responsibilities.


8. Communication

This policy is communicated internally through induction, toolbox talks, and management meetings, and is made available externally via our company website. Client feedback, supplier reviews, and audit findings are used to drive further improvement.


9. Continuous Improvement

Mottram Installation Group is committed to the continual enhancement of its Quality Management System. Regular internal audits, management reviews, and client evaluations are carried out to assess effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.

All improvement actions are tracked through our QMS until verified as complete, ensuring that lessons learned from every project are applied to future works.


10. Compliance and Review

This policy is reviewed annually, or sooner where there are changes to legislation, standards, or organisational structure. Updates are approved by the Managing Director and communicated to all staff and stakeholders.
